When I called her name, she came to me and became a flower” is a ritual to acknowledge and appreciate the beauty and heritage of the Botanical Garden of Urbino in Italy. The book is intended to be read out loud. Poetic gesture of calling every name of 476 seeds from the Urbino Botanical Garden’s Seminum Index becomes meditative experience.

Seminum Index is a catalog, published annually by botanical gardens or arboretums, from seeds of wild and cultivated plants offered for free or in exchange for other similar institutions. The tradition of collecting and exchanging seeds by creating a seed list is dating back to the 18th century, with intention of the conservation of biodiversity and the fight against invasive species.
